2018 Makeup Trends to Slay The New Year

2018 is almost here, and with a new year comes new beauty trends to obsess over. We sat down with our makeup artist Michaela to find out what will be hot in 2018.
THE CUT CREASE
Bigger and brighter eyes are always in, and in 2018 people will be taking that a step further with the cut crease. Here’s how to achieve it:
- Apply color to your eyes
- Use concealer to define your eyelid
- Add your favorite shimmer shade over the concealer
Voila! Your eyes will be bold, bright, and trendy.
CONTOURING ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE
If you’ve ever scrolled through beauty blogger videos, you’ve probably heard of contouring, and the trend is just getting bigger in 2018. Michaela says, “Contour always has been and always will be an awesome tool in makeup!” So, what exactly is it? Contouring uses shading and lighting to change your face shape and highlight your favorite features!

I CAN SEE YOUR HALO (EYE)
Smoky eyes are so last year—the halo eye is here to stay. We love it because it accentuates the eyes and makes them pop (remember, big eyes are IN!). Here’s how you do it:
- Use a darker shade of eye shadow on your outer and inner corners
- Use a light, shimmery shade on the middle of your lid
That’s it! Your eyes will look bright and beautiful.
