Patience joined the Z Studio team in late 2016 after graduating from Paul Mitchell The School in Tulsa.

“Z Studio really has a great reputation with the educators at Paul Mitchell The School. The first time I came to visit, I learned why. It’s the team. It’s the education. It’s the atmosphere.”

Patience also completed her participation in Z Studio’s Associate Program, working under our in-salon educators to build on the foundation of knowledge she learned in school. “If my graduation from Paul Mitchell The School was like a bachelor’s program, then the Associate Program at Z Studio is like a Master’s degree.”

Originally from Owasso, Patience says that Green Country will always be home. “It’s perfect for me, because I get a taste of the city and a taste of the country. There are a ton of things to do, and I especially love spending time on the lake.”

Patience is engaged to be married and has two children. “I grew up in a very tight-knit family, and even worked for our family towing company at one point. Family is everything to me, so when there’s free time, I most enjoy being with them.”

“I am taking everything that I’ve learned and putting it into helping people look and feel their best. I want to continue to build my clientele. I love to meet new people, and I’m looking forward to building great relationships with my guests so that they won’t hesitate to refer me to a friend.”

Casandra joined Z Studio in late 2015 after nearly eight years of experience working for several major salon corporations. Born and raised in Michigan, Casandra moved to New Mexico where she started her family before moving to Tulsa.

“Everyone can remember their worst hair experience,” laughing as she tells the story, “for me, it was when I was 9 years old and had my hair cut all one length…to my ears. I still remember how devastated I was.”

As a result of her experiences and the inspiration by a close friend growing up, Casandra jumped into the world of cosmetology with a mission to help her guests find and create a look that they will love.

Casandra has participated in a number of continuing education programs, with a primary focus on cutting techniques. She is also participating in Z Studio’s continuing education program, staying on top of (and ready to deliver on) the latest trends.

“I’m at my best when I’m doing updos,” but Casandra admits she also loves using dry and razor cutting techniques. “I would love to have a guest sit in my chair and ask for their long hair to be cut into a dramatically shorter, trendy style,” she reveals. “It’s the ultimate test of trust for the guest, and the ultimate test of skill for me. And, I’m up for that kind of challenge!”

Traveling the world is a life-long dream of Casandra’s, and one that she and her husband share. They have an adorable curly, red-headed son. In her spare time, you might find Casandra and her family planning their next vacation or camping trip, or popping up a tent somewhere they’ve never been for an amazing weekend closer to nature and under the stars.

Beau purchased Z Studio in 2010 from the creative artist behind Z Studio’s concept and has grown it into one of Tulsa’s best hair salons. Prior to that, he worked for a prestigious worldwide salon corporation as Area Supervisor, General Manager and Master Stylist. As a native of Green Country, raised near Bartlesville, he began creating the Art of Hair for Tulsans in 1998.

Beau has been internationally trained, including studies in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and China. He has experience using several elite color lines, giving him an extensive knowledge of color and its chemistry, and chose Wella Professionals products for use in Z Studio.

He specializes in identification of the perfect highlight or permanent color for each client and has perfected the application of color and highlights for the longest lasting results. More than his color, cutting, and styling technique, Beau prides himself most on making you feel great while you are in his chair and when you leave.

Beau currently lives in Orlando, Florida, and travels to Tulsa at least once a month, working behind the chair at Z Studio. He’s been named Best Stylist multiple times by multiple publications and his appointments are in high demand. Beau accepts new clients upon request and based upon availability.

As owner of Z Studio, Beau leads our Z Studio Artistic Team’s continuing education efforts and also participates in continuing education classes nationwide. He has been a regular guest speaker to students at local cosmetology schools and enjoys teaching students and stylists how to grow their technical skills. Beau and his team at Z Studio have traveled to the Premier Orlando Show and America’s Beauty Show in Chicago multiple times; these are the two largest professional beauty shows in North America, focused on education, new products and new trends.

When away from salons, he most enjoys spending time exploring new travel destinations. Interesting fact: Beau trained and showed championship Paint and Quarter Horses most of his life and has won multiple world championships. He attended college in Kansas with a major in vocal performance and was the winner of KOTV’s “Gimme The Mike!” – a local vocal competition television show that aired in 2006.

Summer joined the Z Studio team in 2016, as an Associate Stylist, following two years working concurrently at an independent salon and a high-volume chain of salons in Tulsa.

“I wanted to join the Z Studio team because of the reputation they have built for helping develop stylists through education and the Associate Program. Just like the majority of our guests, I felt very comfortable and welcomed in this environment.”

As a part of the Z Studio Associate Program, Summer is building upon the skills she developed while working in another salon and in cosmetology school. She loves providing color corrections and adding fashion colors (shades of pinks, blues, purples) to guests who want a look in line with current trends in the hottest fashion magazines.

“Ever since I was a kid, I can remember how great it felt to be in a salon and receive a great service like color or highlights. I want to recreate that feeling for guests who are in my chair, and the Z Studio Associate Program is helping me further develop those skills.”

A native of Tulsa, Summer is a part of a growing trend for students to stay in Tulsa or return here when they finish professional degree programs. She loves that the people of Tulsa are extremely friendly and that the city has “a small town feel but in a bigger city.” Summer loves animals and has two dogs she spoils like children.

Dustin joined the Z Studio team in 2012 as a salon assistant, working in our reception area and assisting the artistic team with guest needs. After obtaining his cosmetology license, he joined our artistic team, ready to change lives. He has since gone on to grow with the Z Studio team, and now serves as one of our in-salon educators, teaching classes on color, cutting techniques and trends, and service standards.

The overall experience and value of an appointment is truly what it’s all about for Dustin. “If I have told one person, I have told everyone I talk to about my industry; I believe I can change a life with a haircut.”

“The one on one time with my guests and the level of superior customer service we are able to offer each person is what I fell in love with about Z Studio. You feel warm and welcomed when you walk into the salon, as if you’re walking into someone’s home.”

Dustin has attended a number of hair shows and education classes and also participates in Z Studio’s continuing education program which includes the Premiere Orlando Hair Show and education classes in Orlando, Florida. He also regularly participates in RAW: Tulsa (natural born artists, an independent arts organization for artists, by artists) either as featured hairstylist or assisting a featured hairstylist or makeup artist.

If you were to ask him, Dustin would tell you, even though he enjoys working with all types of hair, he really enjoys the world of color and shorter pixy styles. He believes that men appreciate a great haircut more than one may expect and has worked at refining his men’s haircuts.

The youngest of three children, Dustin loves spending time with his family. Summer weekends at the lake with friends and family have made many great memories, but Christmas with the whole family is his favorite time of the year. Socializing and being a part of community events fill a lot of Dustin’s spare time and he is always looking for what’s new to do or see in the city.

Before James moved to Tulsa and joined the Z Studio team in 2013, He was a General Manager and Master Stylist with a prestigious worldwide corporation. Since joining the Z Studio team, James has now grown to become one of our in-salon educators, teaching classes on color, cutting techniques and trends, and service standards.

After 16 years of experience, James says he still does what he loves most.

He enjoys listening to his guests, revealing the ultimate desire for each visit. Unveiling a guest’s needs and wants are what allows James to deliver the “Art of Hair” experience.

“Just sitting and visiting with a guest and allowing them to express what they’re wanting allows us to create a look, together, that’s best for them.”

Throughout James’s years of styling, he has had extensive training with multiple high-end color lines. He has attended numerous advance training certifications and opportunities emphasizing on coloring, highlighting and cutting techniques. James also participates in Z Studio’s continuing education program, providing continued in-salon training classes as well as premiere hair shows and educational training.

Although James has had detailed training in all areas of hair, he admits he thoroughly enjoys giving a great style. “I do love all aspects of hair, but I have a true passion for blondes. Whether it be a subtle change or a complete makeover.”

Originally from Washington State, James moved to Oklahoma 11 years ago. Enjoying everything that Tulsa has to offer, he and his friends never find themselves bored. As a huge pop culture guru, and movie buff, James is definitely the one to have on your team for Trivial Pursuit!
